The rapid progress over the past ten years has enabled numerous economic sectors to become more linked, having a substantial impact on the nation’s goods across countries and sectors, Abdullahi stated in his keynote speech on “The Role of ICT in Shaping the Nigerian Economy.”
He asserts that information technology has the ability to lower costs, boost service quality, shorten response times, and increase service accessibility for all economic sectors.
According to Abdullahi, ICT reduces bureaucracy for businesses reorganizing administrative processes across global supply chains, financial services, healthcare, government, and many other industries. It also creates a digital ecosystem that is transparent and even more compensated.
“Innovators such as Jumia are exploring ways to disrupt and transform traditional process models. It is being said you innovate or die as a business.
“Many industry leaders have already achieved significant business benefits, including greater transparency, enhanced security, increase efficiency, speed of transactions, and reduce costs.”
The head of NITDA added that Nigeria needed to be aware of how China’s use of electronic transaction data had significantly improved the level of growth, effectiveness, and productivity of the world’s economies.
Organizations need to successfully integrate information and communication technology as the main components of the e-commerce campaign initiative in order to take advantage of the economic prospects provided by electronic commerce on the part of the federal government and enterprises.
